Aurus Corporation has announced that its operations at the Krong mine in Russia have begun to produce platinum.

The company has revealed that production at the facility has started and the mine is delivering platinum, as well as deposits of gold.

In November this year, Aurus revealed that the Krong mine contained in the region of 40,000 kilograms of platinum, while new equipment used in the processing operations would result in keeping average production costs to around $217 per ounce.

At the time, vice president Gerald Parkin said the use of the new technology "translates into healthy profits from the first months of operations".
