Anooraq Resources appoints Managing Director 3rd October 2007

Anooraq Resources has appointed Nicholas James as Managing Director to enhance its technical team in South Africa, as it drives towards becoming a significant platinum producer.

Mr James will help to implement the firm's transactions with Anglo Platinum - which saw it acquire 51 per cent of the Lebowa platinum mine also acquire a majority interest in the Ga-Phasha, Boikgantsho and Kwanda Projects.

He brings to the role 25 years of experience as an engineer in the mining sector, with his most recent position being that of Business Leader of the Anglo Platinum and African Rainbow Minerals' joint venture at the Modikwa platinum mine.

Tumelo Motsisi, Anooraq's Chief Executive and Acting President, said: "We are very pleased that Nick James has joined Anooraq. He has an excellent background in mine operations and is also a skilled communicator with a genuine interest in employee and community relations.
