Anooraq reports on Bokoni production loss 30th November 2011

Anooraq Resources say it lost 1,500 4E platinum group metal (pgm) ounces as a result of stoppages after a fatal accident at its Bokoni operations.

In a statement, the miner said production at Bokoni Platinum Mine's Middelpunt Hill UG2 shaft has resumed following the incident on November 18th.

"A total of seven operating shifts were lost at the Middelpunt Hill UG2 shaft during the safety stoppage, with Anooraq estimating production losses of 1,500 pgm (4E) ounces during the period," the firm said.

Anooraq is a black economic empowerment pgm mining, exploration and development company, with assets located in South Africa's Bushveld Complex.
