Albidon confirms inferred resource of pgms at Munali 19th December 2007
Diversified miner Albidon has reported an initial inferred resource estimate of 1.1g/t of platinum group metals (pgms) for the Voyager deposit at its Munali operation in Zambia.
The Voyager deposit is expected to yield 43,800 oz of pgms, bringing the total indicated and inferred resource for the Munali project up to 286,000 oz.
A statement issued by Albidon said: "With the history of resource conversion at Munali and the infrastructure currently under construction, it is possible Voyager will add to either the current mine life of Munali or the production rate per annum."
The firm now expects to commence a scoping study at the resource in early 2008 and has targeted mid-2008 as the completion date for construction of the Munali concentrator.
Albidon also announced that it is planning to re-log the Voyager drillholes to better define the geological domains, thus allowing conversion of the some the inferred resource, and that the Enterprise decline is anticipated to intersect the first production levels at some time in the first quarter next year.
