A host of television stars turned out for the 60th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (21st September) decked out in a range of platinum jewellery.

A variety of bracelets, necklaces, earrings and watches were on display at the New York event as the stars looked to bring out the brilliance of their gemstones through the white metal.

Heidi Klum, who hit the headlines for being dropped by co-host Tom Bergeron during an on-stage prank which gave her a nasty bruise, wore jewellery by Lorraine Schwartz.

'Desperate Housewives' star Teri Hatcher sported a platinum bracelet, earrings and cocktail ring, while Lauren Conrad, of 'The Hills' fame, wore a platinum bracelet and brooch worth $415,000.

Christina Applegate was another guest who opted for Lorraine Schwartz pieces, while Michelle Pfeiffer showed off platinum and 50-carat diamond earrings, a bracelet and a cocktail ring.

Glenn Close (earrings and bracelet), Holly Hunter (earrings) and Debra Messing (ring) all dazzled in Fred Leighton platinum jewellery and Mark Wahlberg wore platinum cufflinks and shirt studs.

Meanwhile, Kate Walsh, star of hit show 'Private Practice', arrived with around $1 million worth of platinum decoration - a bracelet with 100-carat diamonds and sapphires, a ring with a 25-carat black diamond and 25-carat drop earrings.

Other notable stars who took to the red carpet in platinum included Kyra Sedgwick, Evangeline Lilly, Hayden Panettiere, Jennifer Morrison, Cynthia Nixon, Sean Patrick Thomas and Jennie Garth.
