Sharapova shines with platinum earrings 25th June 2008
Maria Sharapova dazzled the crowds at Wimbledon this week when she stepped out on court wearing a brand new outfit and a pair of platinum earrings worth £2,500.
The world number two is becoming something of a trend setter at the lawn tennis championships as she will be wearing an outfit based on a man's tuxedo.
The Nike outfit is being finished with the Tiffany earrings, which are set in platinum.
Sharapova is competing without the traditional skirt this year as she dons the pinstripe piece with a pair of shorts.
The 21-year-old will also wear a trouser suit based on a man's tuxedo to warm up and Nike claim it has "elegance and charm".
Roger Federer, the men's singles champion, also stepped out on court with a new fashion statement as he amazed fans with a cardigan.
However, unlike Sharapova, Federer was not completing his outfit with a pair of platinum earrings.
