Seminars to showcase best of platinum jewellery production 11th July 2008
Platinum Guild International is hosting several seminars across the US giving all the information on the latest trends in the platinum industry.
Taking place from July 31st to October 2nd, five advanced level bench seminars will give participants a chance to learn their trade from Jurgen Maerz.
The director of technical education for Platinum Guild International USA will give a presentation on the latest in platinum technology and advanced techniques, including repairs, sizing, casting and finishing.
He will also explore the benefits of using different platinum alloys to prevent manufacturing problems.
Advanced fabrication techniques, including complex mountings, multiple stone rings and ornate crowns will be demonstrated alongside various methods and techniques.
Alongside Brad Simon, Mr Maerz will demonstrate numerous jewellery repair tips and other tricks used to create platinum pieces.
According to reports from diamonds.net, participants can also get a duel perspective on both method and technique, including Channel, Flush and Princess.
Large screens will show attendees exactly how the experts carry out their complex designs.
