Rooney seals marriage with platinum ring 16th June 2008
Wayne Rooney sealed his marriage with his new wife Coleen with a diamond encrusted platinum ring worth £250,000.
The couple married in Italy and were spotted sporting the platinum pieces as they returned to Liverpool.
According to Eileen Kelly of Abiba jewellers in London, the piece worn by Coleen could have been specially made.
She told the News of the World: "It's beautiful and obviously a bespoke piece. I would say, because it is so unusual, that she has chosen the design and had them specially made."
Ms Kelly said the rings were channel-set with two rows of diamonds and hers features a massive "marquise cut diamond on top".
"The matching rings are a sign of their love and devotion to each other," another source was quoted as saying.
The Manchester United forward and his long-term partner were parried in Italy in ceremony that saw them fly more than 60 relatives and friends to Genoa.
