Platinum had an increased presence at JCK Las Vegas 2008, cementing the metal's growing importance and illustrating its uses.
According to Platinum Guild International, platinum featured heavily on the floor in the shape of wedding rings and fashion accessories and 35 exhibitor stands.
Among the stands was a kiosk demonstrating the metal's uses in retailer signage, which received 150 orders at the show, PGI-USA's Senior Vice President Jenny Luker told JCK Online.
"We hope that more manufacturers and retailers will take advantage of this opportunity and tap into the millions of consumer impressions these visuals witness each month," she said.
Fashion and bridal jewellery was put under the spotlight, meanwhile, thanks to a $5,000 and under showcase, with the focus on the 'three-ring purchase' - engagement ring and wedding bands for the couple.
PGI also held 'power hours' to allow retailer attendees and exhibitors to network and discuss sales and marketing strategies.
Other exhibitors at the show, which ran from May 30th to June 3rd, included International House of Platinum, Tacori and Corona Jewellery.
