Norilsk Nickel is planning to list its shares on the London Stock Exchange this summer.
Speaking to Reuters, Denis Morozov, the firm's general director, said that the listing would take place towards the end of the third quarter of the year after it was approved by the firm's board in February.
The world's largest palladium producer is currently in talks with Alisher Usmanov who is planning to purchase a ten per cent stake in the firm.
Speculation surrounding the bid from Mr Usmanov as well as interest from Vladimir Potanin has seen Norilsk Nickel gain as much as 5.6 per cent.
Shares in the firm are traded over the counter in London, New York and Berlin as Level 1 American Depositary Receipts and about 30 to 40 per cent are freely traded.
Most of the shares belong to RUSAL, the aluminium magnate and Mr Potanin.
