Anglo Platinum expects its second quarter production to be at least five per cent higher than in the first quarter.
Duncan Wanblad, joint Chief Executive Officer, told Bloomberg that the second quarter is "stacking up to be a much better quarter" than the first.
He predicted that production would be "more than five per cent" higher than in the previous quarter.
Anglo Platinum has just released its first-quarter results which showed a 24 per cent drop in production.
The firm claim that the drop was mainly due to the power shortages imposed by the South African power crisis but also said that the flooding and adverse weather conditions had contributed.
Anglo Platinum also revealed that it did not expect South Africa's power crisis to have an impact on its expansion plans.
Norman Mbazima, the other acting Chief Executive, told Reuters: "At the moment, we don't see our expansion plans changing. We are not seeing any major disruption to our projects."
