Ballard Power Systems has signed a two-year deal with a Danish firm to supply fuel cells that will be used for products in the materials handling market.
The deal with H2 Logic A/S will see Ballard Power Systems integrate fuel cells into hybrid systems for various materials handling vehicles including forklift trucks, the Canadian press reports.
Mike Rosenberg, Ballard's Director of Materials Handling, was pleased with the deal.
"This is our first strategic relationship with a European system integrator actively engaged in this market. While volumes under this supply agreement will be small initially, we see strong growth potential with H2 Logic," he said.
The details of the agreement were not released by Ballard Systems which has also signed agreements to sell its automotive fuel cell assets to Daimler AG and Ford.
It also agreed a deal with Voller Energy Group last year which sees Ballard Systems supply the firm with fuel cell stacks to integrate into auxiliary power units.
