Johnson Matthey to release new market forecast 9th October 2006
Johnson Matthey will publish its new market forecast - Platinum 2006 Interim Review on Tuesday 14th November.
Platinum prices have hit a series of record highs during 2006, but as they have softened in recent weeks it is perhaps timely that Johnson Matthey is about to release its latest review of the world platinum group metals markets – Platinum 2006 Interim Review. In this Johnson Matthey will describe what impact the price has had on demand in the various key applications for the metal.
Palladium has also had an interesting time in recent years with new sectors of demand opening up (not least jewellery) and changing its fortunes - although, in price terms, not to the extent of its sister metal. Johnson Matthey will provide an update on how these new sectors are progressing in the Interim Review.
Rhodium’s price has been testing the rarefied atmosphere of 15 year highs and the Interim Review will cover supply and demand of the metal as well as the minor platinum group metals – iridium and ruthenium.
As well as reviewing the situation, Platinum 2006 Interim Review will forecast supply and demand for the major platinum group metals in 2006 and analyse the factors that will influence markets in the year ahead.
The full publication will be posted on the Platinum Today website at 1pm London time on 14th November 2006. A transcript of the London presentation to the analysts and the Q&A session will posted a few days later on the site.
