Tiffany spearheads platinum expansion 16th November 2005

Jewellery firm Tiffany is looking to attract big spenders this Christmas as it launches some high-end platinum items.

The jeweller, which has played an important role in the growth of platinum jewellery through some of its most dazzling pieces, has unveiled a one-of-a-kind diamond encrusted platinum bracelet.

Priced at $135,000, the item is just one of a range of stunning jewellery pieces launched as part of the Christmas range at Beverly Hills' renowned Two Rodeo shopping complex.

Meanwhile, Tiffany has announced new plans for further expansion, with the opening of a new store in Monterrey, Mexico.

The firm is hoping to increase its Mexican presence and the new store is likely to see a number of new platinum pieces when it opens.

"Monterrey is one of Mexico's most prominent cities and is a perfect location for a Tiffany store," explained Andrea Artigas, director of Tiffany Mexico.

Earlier this month the jeweler announced the development of two new stores in the US as the company looks to meet the growing demand for high-end jewellery.
